23|Nov|2009 1No, vaseline or petroleum Jelly won’t cure the symptoms of hemorrhoids, but will help to ease any discomfort. The only way to cure the problem is to have surgery. Another way to help with hemorrhoids is to sit in a tub of hot water, not so hot that it scorches you, but hot enough to where you can stand it. Sitting in hot water will actually shrink your hemorrhoids.
